The 3 Main Types of Natural Perfume
Solid Perfume
Solid perfume comes in a waxy form, blending aromatic materials with bases of waxes, butters, and oils. Typically made with beeswax or carnauba wax, these perfumes are applied by rubbing or dabbing on the skin, releasing fragrance as body heat melts the wax. While traditional in many cultures, solid perfumes are less common today.
Spray Perfume
Spray perfumes, using a pressurized container, dispense a fine mist of fragrance. These popular perfumes mix essential oils with alcohol, a method pioneered by French and British perfumers. Concentrations vary from 1-3% in Eau de Toilette to 40% in Parfum Extrait, making spray perfumes the most common style globally.
Attar Perfume
Attars are undiluted, highly concentrated perfumes made from pure distilled essential oils without alcohol or synthetic chemicals. Originating from India and the Middle East, attars are blended into a base oil like Sandalwood and sometimes diluted with carrier oils like Jojoba. How Your Personal Fragrance Is Crafted
The development of a unique custom fragrance unfolds in several stages, involving collaboration between you and the perfumer. The process is light, enjoyable, and inspiring. You'll reminisce about cherished memories, share your feelings, and express your desires.
Your individual fragrance is born from your personal story, and the master perfumer will take care of expressing and presenting it in your personalized scent. Just keep this in mind during your conversation with the perfumer, and the result will exceed all your expectations. Now, let's delve into each stage in detail.
In-Studio Experience for Creating Personal Fragrances
Introduction: We'll mutually agree on a convenient date and time for your visit to our studio. Here, we'll leisurely chat, enjoy some tea, sample our fragrance collection, and identify your aromatic preferences. Then, we'll sketch out the general concept and image of your future perfume.
Together with the perfumer, you'll clarify your own desires step by step and concurrently understand which notes must be present in your perfume and which should be absent altogether. Remember, there's no one-size-fits-all scent for all occasions, so be prepared to prioritize even the slightest preferences. What kind of fragrance do you want: invigorating or calming, daytime or evening, intense or subtle? Pondering these questions in advance is essential.
This concludes the preliminary work, and we move on to the next step.
Development of Your Formula and Creation of Test Samples: Over the next few weeks, our perfumer will work on your order, crafting a personal perfume that perfectly matches your request. Ultimately, you'll receive five test fragrances from which you'll choose the one that resonates best with your feelings and desires. But you'll do this on the next step.
Fitting: Since complex fragrances unveil their bouquet gradually over several hours, you can truly appreciate their potential only by "living" with them for a while. We recommend allocating at least one day for fitting each perfume composition. This way, you'll observe and feel all the stages of the fragrance's development, understanding how well it "blooms" on your skin. After all, natural perfume sounds slightly different from synthetic.
After careful fitting of all fragrances, you'll select the one you like the most. If it suits you perfectly, great! If you generally like the fragrance but have additional preferences (like adding intensity or removing excessive sweetness, etc.), be sure to share them with our perfumer, and the formula will be adjusted accordingly.
Creation of Your Personal Perfume Based on Your Chosen Test Sample: Now that you've made your preference clear, the perfumer will create your individual fragrance based on your choice: solid, oil-based, or alcohol-based. You'll receive them once the composition has fully "matured." The "maturation period" is one month.
In exceptional cases, you can pick up your order earlier. For instance, if you've ordered perfume as a gift and need it by a certain date. In that case, the recipient will experience the maturation process, something you should inform them about.
Remote Work for Creating a Personal Fragrance
We'll get to know each other and communicate via Skype, phone, or any other convenient means of remote communication. During our conversation, we'll try to determine what you like and what your future fragrance should be like.
Then, you'll be asked to write an essay about your future fragrance (a short questionnaire where you answer questions thoughtfully, describe the image of your fragrance, how you imagine it, what feelings it should evoke, what tasks it will accomplish, etc.).
Subsequently, all stages proceed identically to those described above, as in a personal meeting. According to your request and preferences, test samples are developed. Afterward, they are sent to you by mail or courier for "fitting." When you're ready and choose the best version of the test sample, inform us, and this formula will serve as the basis for the future composition.
Delivery Options for Your Finished Fragrance:
You can either pick up your finished fragrance in person at our studio, have it shipped by mail, or delivered by courier. Choose whichever option suits you best.
Development Time for Exclusive Personal Fragrances
The initial stage of introduction, preparation, and test development takes about 2-3 weeks on average. Then, the "fitting" of the fragrance takes 1-2 weeks. The actual process of "maturing" the perfume lasts up to 1 month.
Thus, the total time for developing a custom fragrance is approximately 1.5 - 2 months.
Sometimes, when urgent, we can work with you on the same day, and you can immediately take the finished composition with you, letting it "mature" at your place or at the place of the person you're gifting it to.
Sometimes the process may take longer. Some people need more time to get acquainted with fragrances, while others want to add some rare and unusual ingredient to their perfume, which requires additional time to find and deliver. But trust us, the result is worth it.
You'll receive your finished custom fragrance in a beautiful box with a personalized certificate of authenticity. The certificate describes who the fragrance is created for, when and by whom it was created, the fragrance pyramid, and the name.
All fragrance formulas are carefully stored in our studio, and if you wish, you can make a new order of your fragrance at any time.
